When IBM recently tested WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 6.1 and EnterpriseOne 8.12 running on a System i, it found that WAS 6.1 delivered significantly greater performance with less memory and CPU utilization than a similar configuration running on WAS 6.0. Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne IBM Power 520 Express with IBM i 6.1 Performance (June 2008)
This paper describes tests that IBM ran on its Power 520 Express server to gauge the impact of several enhancements. The tests demonstrate the significant performance improvements available to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne clients as a result of recent POWER6 processor, IBM i 6.1, and WebSphere Application Server 6.1 product announcements. In addition to impressive reductions in processor and memory requirements for web-based clients, test results show more than a 30% reduction in UBE (batch) elapsed times.
Improved Price/Performance for Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne on System i (August 2007)
This paper describes JD Edwards EnterpriseOne performance tests that IBM performed on a System i Model 570 running POWER6 processors. The tests document improved price/performance for EnterpriseOne; they also show how i5/OS Application Server processor licensing can reduce the overall cost of a System i implementation.
